Our Christmas tree!
I'm off on a blogging break for the next two weeks!
Here are some of the things I'm planning to do:
- Work on a new story!
- Finish reading: Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran, The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman, and The Mermaid's Mirror by L.K. Madigan.
- Eat my weight in food.
- Watch my two favorite versions of A Christmas Carol, here and here.
- Drink copious amounts of butterbeer here.
- Ride this, this, and this at Disney World. And go see this and this.
I'll leave you with two clips from the Nutcracker, which I've been writing to ever since I went to see it last week. I'm not too crazy about ballet, but I love this gorgeous music. Plus, it's a nice break from all the Christmas stuff that's been playing since Halloween!
I wish you all a bright, happy holiday season and I will see you back here in 2012. ♥

Happy Christmas and have a great new year! :)
You are going to love Harry Potter World!!
Wishing I was going, too!!
Merry Merry Holidays to you! Enjoy your break.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Have a wonderful break!
Have a wonderful break. Enjoy yourself.
Yvonne.
Let us know how the butterbeer is!
Don't eat too much or you'll be sick on those rides at Disney. Merry Christmas!
I love Mickey's Christmas Carol! But my favorite version is The Muppet Christmas Carol. I haven't seen the Patrick Stewart one; I'll have to rent that next year.
Enjoy your holiday break, Julie. Merry Christmas and see you next year!!
Enjoy your break and all the wonderful things you have planned. Sounds like so much fun to be had.
And I love much of the music in The Nutcracker, however, I love seeing it Fantasia-style.
Have a very Merry Christmas, Julie! Say HI to Mickey for me. And be safe! :)
Merry Christmas, Julie! Enjoy the reading, writing, eating, and general festivities: it sounds like it should be good.
I LOVE the Nutcracker! My dance studio growing up put it on every year when I was a kid and I was, of course, a Chinese doll - I grew up in a racist white east coast hamlet - and a mouse.
Do NOT eat your weight in food. I did that on my trip and pre-grained a pound for the holidays. Working it off is a bitch.
Merry Christmas!
Happy holidays, Julie! See you in 2012.
I'm going to go look up butterbeer.
Happy, happy Holidays! Your plans sound awesome. I am looking forward to reading more of your blog when you return. Cheers!
Merry Christmas! Hope you have a wonderful break
Happy Christmas, Julie! Have the best time on your travels and Happy New Year!! *Butterbeer cheers*
xo Charm o<{:)
Happy holidays, Julie!
I love ballet and especially the Nutcracker, but haven't been to see it in several years. That makes me a sad panda.
I'm following in spite of my sadness.
The Nutcracker has beautiful music! Happy Holidays and New Year to you! I'm so jealous you're going to Harry Potter world AND Disneyworld! Have tons and tons of fun! :D (Also, I definitely ate my weight in food.)
Happy New Year! I wish you luck with your new story.
Have you ever seen ballet live? Like many things, that's when it because captivating. I love all of Tchaikovsky's music! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Years, I love how you put the lit up village underneath your tree - will have to try that next year.
I'm so jealous. I want to go to Disney World. I will never tire of the Magical Kingdom. I am sure my husband hoped I would after we took three kids and one friend each for spring break 2010. I also want to eat my weight in food. No, wait I did that over Christmas so now I have to diet. Thanks for sharing the music. Happy New Year and have a good blog vacation
Christine: Thank you! I hope you had a great holiday :)
Shelley: I enjoyed it a lot! Maybe one day a bunch of us bloggers can have a "writers' retreat" at HP World, and maybe this time I'll get to ride a ride!
Anne: Thanks so much, I really did enjoy my break!
Melissa: I hope you had a great holiday season! I know I did :)
Susan: Thank you :)
Yvonne: Thank you! I hope you had a very merry Christmas!
Robert: The butterbeer was like overhyped cream soda, but it was delicious none the less! I hear the frozen version is better than the chilled, which is what I had.
Alex: Haha - no worries, I restrained myself from eating too much!
Laura: There's a special place in my heart for ALL Christmas movies. I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday!
Angela: So do I! I just watched Fantasia again, in fact. I love the Waltz of the Flowers part.
Don: Mickey says hi back! :)
Sophia R: It was a great holiday! It ended all too soon, though...
Sophia C: HAHAHA! I hear ya, sister, I also grew up in an almost all-white area (I say "almost" because of the presence of me and my family. Diversity, y'all). God, I wish I'd listened to you... I gained back almost all the weight I lost since September. AWESOME.
Tina: Hope you had a merry Christmas!
Medeia: 2012 is gonna be a good year, I can feel it!
Tracy: I'm so glad you are here and reading my blog! Hope you enjoy it and hope you had a great holiday!
Vicki: Thank you very much, I did!
Charmalot: *Butterbeer cheers right back* Hope you enjoyed the holidays!
Nancy: Hope you had a great holiday!
Elliot: I'm sorry to hear that! Maybe you'll get to see it this year!
Krispy: I had so much fun! And I ALMOST ate my weight in food, but not quite.
Theresa: Thank you very much!
Margo: I've been to see the Nutcracker live twice. It was very enjoyable! But I personally prefer music-only concerts - it's my orchestra background, I like to focus on the music front and center.
Melissa: Same here! The Magic Kingdom is my favorite. I hope you get to go soon! Happy New Year to you!
